How to Turn a Place Around
DATE:
MAY 5, 2011 - 8:30 AM to MAY 6, 2011 - 8:30 AM ET
LOCATION:
Pratt Manhattan, New York City
This session will focus on new and innovative ways to think about public spaces and how “placemaking” projects can revive neighborhoods and bring people together. Placemaking has emerged as a new development strategy that focuses on community history, needs and goals. These areas are generally multi-use and fit into the community’s identity. The training session will cover how to embrace placemaking: evaluate a space, create a vision, plan for management and use other models to revitalize a small space or entire city. Topics will include the placemaking process, how to engage community members, the keys to implementing projects in public spaces, developing campaigns and more. Learn more
