NeighborWorks organization Cumberland Neighborhood Housing Services is including instruction on vegetable gardening as part of its educational series. The course will be taught by Master Gardener Coordinator for Alleghany County Dedrrick Bender who will cover topics such as choosing a site, soil prep, planting strategies, planting dates, caring for a garden, fertilizers and more. The topic of gardening fits with green practices and sustainability.
