The Effects of Foreclosure on Children and Schools
In order to learn more about the effects of the foreclosure crisis on children and schools, the National Neighborhood Indicator Partership gathered data from Baltimore, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Family stress, moves from home to home, and changing schools all affect children whose families are affected by foreclosure. Briefs on various aspects of the case studies have been released, and now a follow-up program will help share the findings. This site describes the project, shares the briefs, and directs readers to additional resources. Project partners include the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance, Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy, and NeighborhoodInfo DC.
