Foreclosure and Kids: Does Losing Your Home Mean Losing Your School?

This report examines the effects of foreclosure on children, in particular the relationship between foreclosure and students having to change schools. The report includes specific data related to families in foreclosure and the patterns involving students and the schools they attend. It looks at whether or not children living in foreclosed properties are more likely to change schools plus examines the caliber of the schools they move to and how the move affects their academic performance. The report also provides data on which neighborhoods are most affected by foreclosure and other demographic characteristics related to foreclosure. Read the report.
