Now Available, Data on Seriously Delinquent Mortgages
Mortgage delinquency data and analysis from March 2011 on is now available for 355 metro areas in the U.S. This report identifies many key findings. For example, serious delinquencies are still high and not getting higher, but the foreclosure rate is still rising. The fact that foreclosures are still increasing means that properties are stuck, which is delaying recovery.
The cities where delinquency rates increased include five metro areas in New York, Seattle (WA), Portland (ME), Portland (OR), Madison (WI), Philadelphia (PA), Tulsa (OK) and Bridgeport (CT). Other findings show that serious delinquency mixed with high unemployment is dangerous for communities. Quarterly data from 2010 is also available in the report. Read more
