NSP 2 Awards
U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan will announce that HUD is awarding $2 billion in Recovery Act funding to states, local governments and non-profit housing developers, under HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), to spur economic development in hard-hit communities and create jobs. Nearly 60 grantees are receiving awards. A full list of grants awarded today can be found in the attached document.
There were 482 applicants, requesting over $15 billion
Only 322 of those applicants were scored, others failed basic threshold criteria
HUD is willing to hold briefings for those that did not receive a grant
The awards break down as follows:
56 TOTAL grants being distributed to 28 states
36 consortium awardees include partners in 18 states
15 local governments
3 national nonprofits (include partnerships across 15 states)
1 national consortium (across 9 states)
1 state
