NSP1 Dollars, Where Did They Go?

During the first round of NSP (2008) almost every state received funds ranging from $2 million to $145 million based on their local problems. Since then, two additional NSP rounds were delivered: NSP 2 provided $1.93 billion to communities in January 2010 and NSP3 provided $1 billion in September 2010.

This report explains the different strategies used as part of NSP1.  Complete descriptions of “eligible uses” of the funds are described such as financing mechanisms, acquisition and rehab, land banking, demolition and redevelopment.
