Policy Brief: Using the American Community Survey To Measure Change

In the future, everyone will increasingly rely on the American Community Survey for information about how American society is changing. In this report, the Metropolitan Philadelphia Indicators Project at Temple University explains why information gathered in the ACS is being substituted for data that had previously been collected in the decennial censuses. The answer lies in a fundamental shift in the design of the 2010 Census. The policy brief also has a link to an FAQ about the American Community Survey.
