Funds Awaited for Foreclosure Counseling

The HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton is an example of the need for continued federal funding through the National Foreclosure Mitigation Program. The organization is set to expend all of its foreclosure counseling funds at the end of this month. If additional funding is not made available, it is feasible that the organization will have to halt its foreclosure-related services to households in need. This is of major concern to the organization’s executive director, since 2011 is expected to be the worst year on record for foreclosures.
