Thursday Jul 19, 2012 - Comments: 0

The Stable Communities Initiative will host a free afternoon workshop at the upcoming NeighborWorks Training Institute in Cincinnati, August 13-17. Be sure to join us on Tuesday, August 14 at 4:30 pm, Aligning Strategies for Neighborhood Change.  No registration required, but because of the fun tools participants will be using, this workshop has a limit of 36 participants, first-come, first-served. See you in Cincinnati!

Workshop Description

Do you excel at delivering affordable housing, homeownership counseling, financial literacy, job skills training, or other services to individuals or households in your community? Are you considering how these programs might align with community stabilization efforts to produce resilient, revitalized neighborhoods? Have a funder that wants to know how you are affecting the overall quality of life in your service area? Wish you could have a more visible impact in neighborhoods struggling with disinvestment, foreclosures, vacant properties, and deferred maintenance?

Join the Stable Communities Initiative for a highly interactive workshop to learn how to integrate household-focused programs with place-based community stabilization strategies. During the workshop, participants will engage in a case study exercise using maps and data to define outcomes and suggest ways to coordinate and focus programs in order to stabilize a targeted area. Workshop attendees will also discuss a range of strategies suited for stabilizing their own neighborhoods.

Tuesday, August 14 at the NeighborWorks Training Institute from 4:30 to 6:00, look in your registration packet for location.
