ED160 Financing Community Economic Development
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the vast array of tools and techniques for financing community economic development projects and programs. Examine debt and equity financing methods, including loans, guarantees, tax credits, tax abatements, special assessment districts, and fee generation. Learn about the roles of financial intermediaries such as CDFIs, CDCUs, and CDEs, and explore federal funding sources including CDBG, Section 108, OCS, Historic Tax Credits, and New Markets Tax Credits. Through project examples and case studies, develop skills to evaluate, select, and combine financing sources to achieve your organization's economic development goals and support successful community initiatives.
