HO003wt Fair Housing: Building Competency in Housing Counseling

This faculty-led webinar is designed for housing counselors preparing for the HUD certification exam or seeking to strengthen their competency in fair housing. The course covers the federal Fair Housing Act’s application to renting, lending, appraising, and selling, as well as exemptions and complaint procedures. Through interactive activities, resource materials, and faculty Q&A, participants will learn to identify acts of discrimination, explain client rights, and guide clients through the complaint process. The training provides 1.5 hours of continuing education and is essential for counselors at HUD-approved agencies aiming to maintain funding, certification, and equitable housing access for all.
