As Native American Heritage Month comes to a close, we’d like to share some of the photos from a fall convening in the Northeast. The gathering, a partnership between NeighborWorks America, the Native CDFI Network, and Four Directions Development Corp., included three days of learning in community, first on the reservation lands of the Penobscot Nation in Bangor, Maine, and then in Sugar Loaf. NeighborWorks and the Native CDFI Network are joining together for another gathering in February in the Western region with a focus on collaboration and shared learning.
Being in community, collaboration and learning were themes of the convening. Photo/Soubanh PanthayThe Burnurwurbskek Singers open the gathering with traditional music. Photo: Soubanh Phanthay.
